So how long have these huge trees been growing? Did they really used to transport sea salt this way once? Are we skilled enough to be able to disenchant the storks? Ugh, did our ancestors really live at these heights? On walks along our themed trails, you will find answers to these and many more questions that will arise along the way through our historical and cultural heritage with the magic of nature.
Take a walk along the path that our ancestors used to transport iron and sea salt from Kranj across the Kokra Valley to Železna Kapla in the 14th century. The trail is moderately demanding and leads through pristine nature with many natural and cultural attractions.
In the past, in addition to freight, the route was used for pilgrimages and for contacts with locals in remote areas. The path is not demanding and leads through pristine nature throughout. Occasionally it opens and offers views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
The thematic-orientational trail will take you through a magical forest, where the mysterious story of the enchanted Preddvor storks is hidden. Discover how our storks are connected to the Count and Countess, the mischievous crow Fran and the beautiful Preddvor hills.
The chamois trail is located below the mighty Storžič, home to chamois that often graze on its slopes. The trail also connects important cultural heritage, as you will discover where the Old Slavs once lived along the upper course of the Belca stream and enjoy the view of the valley next to the church of St. Lovrenc.
